О.А. сознательно приняла решение не иметь детей, поскольку они будут мешать занятиям математикой. Об этом пишет, например, М.И. Вишик в своих воспоминаниях:
"In Leningrad Olga Alexandrovna married Andrey Alekseevich Kiselev, who looked very much like Pierre Bezukhov, the hero of the novel War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. My wife and I often visited them when we were in Leningrad. We witnessed how tender and loving Andrey Alexeevich was. She literally meant the world to him. However, they separated later. Andrey Alexeevich wanted to have children, but Olga Alexandrovna did not. She justified her decision by her wish to devote her life to mathematics only, to which children might be an obstacle. Thus, Olga Alexandrovna stayed single for the rest of her life."
